Dear Families,
Today we practiced writing this weeks words (and, the, I, you, Corbin) and letters (i,u) on our tables! (Jada)
We watched a video on precipiation! (Skyler)
We drew our observations in our science notebook.
We worked on revising our stories in writing workshop. Adding more words and detail to pictures was our focus. (Jack)
We used our calculators to skip count! (Cash)
We finished our IB booklets on healthy lifestyles today!
We went to the ABL lab! (Ariana)

Dear Families,
Happy October! Since our afternoon was busy due to Jog-A-Thon, I told the kids that I would send today's message!
Today we heard a story called Julia and Teresa's Wacky Weather Day. We discussed the word precipitation and identified the kind of precipitation that happened in the story!
We practiced writing complete sentences on our dry erase boards.
We ran at our Jog-A-Thon! Thanks to all our parent volunteers and for all the donations from our families! Our class raised $624.69!
We discussed revision in writer's workshop. We talked about the importance of adding more words and more details in our pictures.
We practiced counting by 2's using our 100 chart!
We drew a picture of an active exercise and an inactive activity!
**Our class earned our 5th star as a class! To celebrate they voted on bringing a favorite stuff animal that fits in their backpack to school tomorrow!

Dear Families,
We reviewed what we have been learning about temperature!
We played a fun game on the computer to see if we could read thermometers right! (Hyrum)
We cheered for Corbin and wrote his I like poster! (Kenna)
This morning we went to computer lab! (Jaxson) Thank you for doing Raz Kids at home because a lot of our kids knew how to log on today!
We highlighted words in our poems that started with the letters i and u. (Alicia)
In writers workshop we started revising our stories. We worked on adding more words to our stories!
In math we counted to measure time. (Eric) We also reviewed how we use tally marks. Do Home Link 5-9 for extra practice! 
We watched a short video of healthy habits and discussed some exercise skills we can and can't do!

Dear Families,
Today we talked about brushing our teeth! (Jaxson)
We practiced writing the letters u and i correctly. (Hyrum)
In writers workshop we discussed how we can get ideas to write from our observations! 
We used our class number grid to play a number game then practiced writing numbers. (Anthony)
We used thermometers to measure temperature of objects in our room! (Stella)

*Please continue to collect money for Jog-A-Thon! Money is due this Thursday on Jog-A-Thon day!
If you are volunteering at Jog-A-Thon, please come to our classroom at 11:50am! We can go over our plan at that time!

Dear Families,
We went to PE this morning! (Cash)
We also took our fall pictures! (Arianna)
Today we talked about the letters i and u. (Jada) We found out they are vowels and make 2 sounds!
We are learning ways we can keep our bodies healthy. (Iris) Exercise, brushing our teeth, and washing our hands/body are some of the ways we will explore this week!
In math we practiced using our 100 chart! (Eric) It can also be called a number grid.
We went outside and felt objects to see their temperature! (Annie)

Notes/Reminders:
*Today we had a really long discussion on being nice and respectful to others. Ms. Allison has been noticing our friends being unkind repeatedly to others to the point that they are getting upset or crying. We talked about this possibily being seen as the beginning of bullying. PLEASE talk with your child because this behavior will not be tolerated.
*Please continue to collect money for Jog-A-Thon! Money is due this Thursday on Jog-A-Thon day!

We talked about temperature today! (Beckett)
We felt hot, warm, cool, and cold objects! (Skyler)
We practiced writing our new sight words go and a on our tables! (Rachel)
We used our photographs from home to tell stories in writers workshop! (Kap)
We put our photos in our writing workshop folders!
We practiced counting by 5's! We also used counters to help us compare numbers.
We went to the ABL lab! (Alicia)
We talked about the meat group! (Mia)

  • I just found out that our class will get to make a class t-shirt this year! We started designing it today! It will cost $10. Purchasing a shirt is not mandatory, however we will have opportunities this year to wear them together! Dear Familes,

It was written to remind us that we could write stories about things we've done. 
We used calculators again today! (Jack)
We learned how we can count on calculators using plus and minus signs!
We learned about the dairy group! (Megan)
