Dear Families,
We practiced going to our book nooks and read our books. (Jada) If your child has not brought their books from home, please send to school this week!
Today in math we practiced counting using our manipulatives. (Ariana) Please do Math link 1-3 in math workbooks. Tear out this page and put it in your child's folder!
We read the story No David. (Kenna) We talked about the choices David made in his story!

We boogied and danced to our quiet book spots in reading workshop. (Jack)

We went to the ABL lab today for the first time! (Iris) We will go every Friday! Ask your child about the ABL lab.

Dear Families,
We read the story The 3 Little Pigs. (Jaxson) 
We talked about 3 ways we can read our books. We can read the words. Read the pictures. Retell the story!
We learned more about shapes. (Alicia)
We found out Ms. Allison's favorite color and food. (Stella)
We got to go to the computer lab and play on computers. (Anthony)
If you have a computer mouse, see if your child knows how to use it!

Reminders:
If your child brings a lunchbox, please make sure there is a drink in there (other than the water bottle in their backpack if one is brought).
Please help your child learn/memorize their student id numbers. Their numbers are used in the lunchroom.

Dear Families,
We had fun. (Hyrum)
We found out where to get more paper in writing workshop today. (Beckett)
We got to play with pattern blocks in math. (Rachel) 
We drew our families in our books this afternoon. (Eric)

News:
1. It was great to see so many of you last night! If you did not attend I attached the powerpoint for you to look over. 
2. I sent home your child's RAZ kids computer login information in their folders today. I hope you enjoy reading with your child in this fun way!
3. I also sent a page in a page protector. Please attach pictures of things your child likes to it. For example, if they like dinosaurs, playing basketball, and trucks, glue pics of these to their page. Please return their page/page protectors once you are done! (Rachel already did hers--I showed this last night as an example.)

We learned about Ms. Allsion! (Skyler) We will learn about her all week!
We read the story Miss Bindergarden Gets Ready for Kindergarden. (Jaxson)
We talked about how important listening is when we read!
We went to centers today! (Alicia) Students were so excited to go to Reading Centers this morning and Big centers this afternoon!
We wrote more in our stories from Friday in writing workshop! (Jada)
Our class worked together on a transportation graph in math. We found out more of our kids ride to school in a car in the mornings!
It was a great Monday!

We read the story Chester the Racoon and the Big Bad Bully. (Cash)
We talked about bullies.
We wrote in our first writing stories in writing workshop. (Jack)
For word work we put our names in ABC order. (Anthony)
In math we made a boy and girl graph.
The boys won! (Alicia)
We learned how to use liguid glue today! (Mia)
It was a great first week!
